peek at my ring

i'm pre-engaged. until i have my ring this will be the case. im crazy excited about the ring because i got to design it. i shall tell you about the stone first.

i love black. at 12 years old we got to design our bedrooms and pick new furniture, paint, etc. i chose black. black everything. my parents insisted it was a stage and gave me white furniture and walls. over 15 years later i have black floors, an entire black bedroom, black car, black business, and black blog. i guess i still have many stages to grow out of. until then, i'm getting a black diamond! i picked a princess cut slightly rectangular diamond on a simple yellow gold elegant band.

as for the wedding band i was very inspired by the timeless/egyptian yet punk/modern style of the pyramid stud. see pics below!

raw salmon and me

who would've thought? ben took me on a date to get sushi and introduced me to the 'Jenny Roll' which he swore i would like. it had avocado and crab in it with some fresh salmon on top and a tiny sliver of a lemon slice. i LOVED it! the lemon totally made it. there was so much flavor and it was so fresh. can't wait to go back! (he's requested the same restaurant for his b-day in 2 weeks)

this weekend i did a show called The Find in Houston which had a lot of very interesting emerging designers. it was storming the first day so not a lot of people made it out of their driveway (gotta love Texans!). so we all made friends and browsed eachothers goods and yep you guessed it. we went home with a great deal of eachother's amazing things! here are some highlights of what i came home with. Most was from Ancestor Vintage and she has an etsy site - definitely worth checking out!!!

i realized everyone doesn't know about pandora and i think it's a sin! you can enter any song and it will create a station based on that song. you can help guide the station by saying thumbs up or down to a song. you can make unlimited stations and it's free! my fave station i could listen to all day was built off of the song "girl from ipanema" try it out! i dare you...

fun-do

tonight i decided i wanted fondue. so i got some swiss gruyere from whole foods and headed home. some butter, heavy cream, and shredding later voila! i relaxed on my couch watching some "what not to wear" with my apples, haricot verts, and fresh baguette, dipping to my heart's content!

this 7am thing...

so maybe i feel like i'm going to puke a little bit. i don't like this right now but i'm not going back to bed! jen told me not to be surprised if i end up needing a nap later - we'll see!

i'm trying out an equinox class this morning - it's supposed to be the best gym in dallas - we'll see how it goes...

or bed would be nice... NO SARAH! no no....
