exception to the golden rule

my architect has a strict rule that he puts on every set of plans for the contractor.  NO BRASS HARDWARE.  as soon as he told me that we had an awkward moment.  i think i might be his worst nightmare.
in his defense i know what he's referring to.  i would put an example pic here but i couldn't bear to upload the ugly pics.  blech...
i intend to change his mind.

  1. Ok, there is a very big difference between builder-grade (anything really) brass and antiqued brass (or whatever each company calls it). All of our old glass doorknobs are attached to "antiqued" brass from the 20's but we matched the addition with the new brass, not the 80's brass everyone is trying to recover from having installed. Check out emtek brand door knobs/hinges/etc they are great.
