the journey to having a house continues!
signed with a realtor
signed with an architect
had professional stager evaluate the house and give me quite a list!
2 more trips with 20 more boxes to the storage unit to unclutter the condo
walked through condo with a handyman to get sell-ready
met with a lender
met with accountant to figure out how to show earnings (self employed is so complicated!)
found out i actually know nothing about my credit score (credit karma is not legit! lol)
still to do:
have handyman repaint/fix up
get condo listed
get 1 more line of credit - bank suggested furniture and financing it - i'm pretty set on Restoration Hardware
get a bank line of credit - i'm thinkin amex since they've had a business account with me for 8 years now
talk to local Waxahachie banks about possibly mortgaging the land (will build my credit and give us cash to build)
this is such an interesting process. i am learning a ton. sure, i get frustrated and would like to break ground now but i feel like all of this will make us even more grateful in the end! cheers to the process!!
Every time you post about the progress on your house, I can't help thinking of Sarah Richardson and her series "Sarah's House." (http://www.cc-md.org/sarahs-house/ )
ReplyDeleteShe takes a house from a usually fixer-upper, and transforms them with beautiful, unique things to make this house a home (one of my favorites was her farmhouse redo -- amazing).
One day you will look around your fab house and feel that this was all worth it ... all while sipping lemonade on your country porch chatting with your gal-pal Gabby, right? ^_-
OOPS! Wrong link. Here's the correct one:

I've got something to add to your list:
ReplyDeleterethink this entire ridiculous decision to move.
I mean come on. Gigantic piece of land, house, sea of bluebonnets who need that headache?
oh.. on the whole local bank idea- I heard about a man that tried all the big banks to get a loan to reopen his furniture making company and no one would lend him the money. He finally got a loan from a local bank.
